Report:Maple Leaves argree to 3 seperate deals

AP--Montreal

Today, an inside source reports that the Montreal Maple Leaves have agreed to three seperate deals on Tuesday, prior to the opening of the off season. The first deal will send CF Cesar Montanez to Salt Lake City for an undisclosed minor league player. The 2nd deal will send SP R.J. Medrano to Chicago in exchange of C Ray Winn. Winn is a solid on base catcher with above average pitch calling skills and a below average arm. Medrano was a big FA signing who has not panned out for Montreal. Both owners were looking to shed the respective salaries, and are hoping the players will benefit from a change in scenery.
The big deal of the day should come as somewhat of a surprise. TheMontreal Maple Leaves will aquire 2B Walt Hinske ina deal inclduing C Jason Leach and 2B Alexander Henley. Leach is a stud hitting catcher with below average defense while Henley is a below average defender with a strong stroke that should translate well in Atlanta. Why anyone would be dumb enough to trade with jakaits is unknown, but this should not come as a surprise. Montreal's owner responded to criticisim of previous GM jaywil08 not making enough moves, so he hired former Nashville GM thaceo, who had a falling out with Nashville's owner mid season, who was still bitter that he traded 1B Terry Johnstone. Expect these to be the first of many moves from thaceo this offseason.
